Orientation Training Program on Cancer Screening

Garima Kandel Memorial Trust in collaboration with Budhanilkantha Municipality successfully organized three days Orientation and Training Program on Cervical and Breast Cancer. This training programme was for enhance the skill of various health workers such as ANM, CNA, HA and staff nurse who have been deployed with in the Budhanilkantha Municipality. The objective of the training program was for making community nursing staff capable to conduct VIA test for cervical cancer screening . Total 25 health workers from Budhanilkantha municipality and volunteer of GKMT successfully completed that training course. During the three days, On the first day, Senior surgical Oncologist, Gynae oncologist and Medical doctors presented the theoretical part and 2nd and 3rd day , participants observed the practical session at VIA test and Clinical Breast Examination camps with experienced nurse and gynae oncologist. During the Screening, 100 women were taken from the local area. After conducting the screening following findings were carried out.

At the end of third day, closing ceremony was held in presence of head of Administration of Budhanilkantha Municipality Mr.Rajendra Karki, Public health Department head Mr Kumar Dahal and Senior Surgical Oncologist Dr Prakash R Neupane. At the closing ceremony, Chairman of GKMT, Mr. Gangaram Kandel thanked to all participants and experts who provided required skill and knowledge to the participants. Mr. Kandel presented the certificate of participation and token of love as a bunch of appreciation.The whole screening program was carried out with technical support by National Research and Cancer Hospital, Jawalakhel.
