History

The idea of establishing GKMT emerged after the one year Garima Kandel lost her life by bone cancer (Osteosarcoma) in Ireland at aged 18 on 23rd January 2014. Parents of late Garima (Mr. Gangaram Kandel and Mrs Chandra Kala Niraula Kandel) initiated the establishment of the trust in memory of Garima and started various social activities with the help of some volunteers. Garima was keen to help poor children and elderly people too. This was another major reason of the establishment of the trust.
Since its establishment, GKMT has been involved in various activities in Nepal, likeĀ  cancer preventive and awareness health camps, support to BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital by providing some essential logistics, support for blood transfusion cost to needy patients who are under treatment of different type of cancer and scholarship programme.
